National Infantry Foundation Seeks Audio-Visual Technology Support Specialist

The National Infantry Museum has an opening for a Audio-Visual Technology Support Specialist. This position requires 25-30 hours per week, including occasional nights or weekends.

The ideal candidate must display excellent customer service and communication skills and experience in sound/video/lighting systems. An understanding of multimedia technology is strongly preferred but not required.

Primary responsibilities and tasks:
• Assist with the maintenance and repair of the multimedia shows within the museum to include lighting, sound, video and special effects.
• Provide A/V engineering support for museum events, classes, tours, lectures, rentals and other productions as needed
• Assist the other members of the Information Technology staff in the maintenance and repair of the museum’s simulations and attractions

Other responsibilities and tasks:
• Work with the Information Technology Staff to maintain and repair all rental equipment, tools and supplies.
• Assist with the cleaning, maintenance and repair of dioramas, theaters and macro displays
• Other duties and information technology tasks as assigned

Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Excellent skills in the reading and comprehension of technical diagrams, manuals, drawings and schematics
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
• Ability to work independently
• Must be able to perform climbing duties to include catwalks, lifts, ladders and scaffolding
• Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with staff, volunteers, clients, outside vendors and the general public
