Ways to Brighten a Soldier's Season | Patriotic Holiday Tips from the National Infantry Museum, Columbus, Georgia

At the National Infantry Museum, the mission is to honor Soldiers. Looking for ways to show your support for our military men and women during this festive season? Try one of these ideas:

• Invite a Soldier who can’t go home for the holidays to come to your house for a big home-cooked dinner.

• Find a World War II vet and record his memories. He’ll feel proud and honored. The median age for a WWII veteran is 85. Let’s make sure their stories are not lost.

• Know of a Soldier who’s deployed? Find out what his family needs for the holidays and lend them a helping hand. If you're in the Fort Benning area, Benning MWR has a great list of programs to assist the morale and welfare of our local military families.

• Write a thank-you card to a Soldier, and place it on the Gift of Freedom tree at the National Infantry Museum. If you’re not local, mail it to us and we’ll hang it on the tree for you! (see address below)

• The next time you see a uniformed Soldier, take a moment to simply say, “thank you for your service!” It will mean more than you can guess.

As we enjoy another season of giving, please remember to honor those who have given all for freedom.

Support Your National Infantry Museum Today! | Holiday Donation Drive & Gift Ideas | Fort Benning/Columbus, GA

A Soldier knows his mission is to protect our country. At the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center, we believe our mission is to say thank you. This holiday season, we invite you to be a part of the mission with a tax-deducible donation.

Operated by a private, non-profit 509(a)1 organization – the National Infantry Foundation – the NIMSC houses an outstanding collection of military artifacts and interactive exhibits unlike any other. Our success is measured by the response of our visitors: in under three years of operation, we're closing in on our millionth visitor and were recognized for Outstanding Achievement at the 17th annual Thea Awards, the most prestigious honor in the themed entertainment industry.

Summer Camp Benning, one of our
most popular programs, is just one
example of your donations in action
The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center opened in June 2009 with one mission: to honor Soldiers past, present and future. The NIMSC operates with three primary goals in mind:
  • Education, explaining the role of the United States Army throughout history to the general public and Soldiers in training at Fort Benning;
  • Recreation, providing the most unique opportunities for learning and fun in the community, including the region's only IMAX 3D experience and the NIM SIM Combat Simulators;
  • Preservation, honoring all Soldiers by depicting their legacy of service and sacrifice.
As a privately-funded organization, the National Infantry Foundation relies entirely on your generous support to keep history alive.

The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center is holding a year-end donation drive as we prepare for all the exciting opportunities that await in 2012, including special event programming and gallery expansion.
Remember, all contributions to the National Infantry Foundation are tax-deductible; what better way to close out this year than with a charitable contribution to honor Soldiers at this world-class facility? You can DONATE ONLINE TODAY or send your check along with this printed form to:

The NIMSC is also a great place to purchase truly unique holiday gifts for all ages! From memorial pavers to cookbooks, we offer ways to provide lasting tribute or just one day of family fun. Throughout the month of December, we'll be highlighting different gift ideas as well as reviewing what your support did for us in 2011 and providing a sneak preview of what lies ahead in 2012.
