This May, the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center will host a number of public events as part of a month-long tribute, culminating with Memorial Day 2011 on Monday, May 30, 2011.

- May 6 - The Patriot Park IMAX Theatre at the National Infantry Museum will begin a special limited run of the classic Academy Award®-nominated film FIRES OF KUWAIT.
- May 21 - The Fort Benning Sergeants Major Association will be hosting a Classic Car & Truck Show at the National Infantry Museum. Open to the public, $20 registration fee to enter your car for prizes. The Patriot Park IMAX Theatre will hold free screenings of the hit Will Ferrell comedy TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY.
- May 26 - The National Infantry Museum will host a Desert Storm/Desert Shield 20th Anniversary Tribute, unveiling a new memorial to the 382 American service men & women who lost their lives in that conflict.
- May 30 - Memorial Day 2011 will consist of a number of special events, including the premiere of HAMMER: HARDSHIPS, HEARTS & HEROES, a new film made by the 3rd Brigade Heavy Combat Team at Fort Benning about their last deployment to Iraq.
